The current 0.51er release of the BlogPlugin doesn't depend on the NatSkin anymore.
So if you are a NatSkin hater and PatternSkin lover this is good news for you as you can use the BlogPlugin with either of them now. This was made possible as part of the NatSkinPlugin has been moved out and put into a plugin of its own so that it can be used in isolation, the IfDefinedPlugin.

But why the hell am I using IFDEFINED instead of TWiki-4.0's %IF{"defined ..."}% construct? Well, I tried but didn't reach far. The BlogPlugin's usage of conditional rendering is simply not doable with %IF.

Anyway, don't mind. The IfDefinedPlugin is small and powerful and has got just enough flexibility to let you BlogUp.
